best toddler toys -Just Be Careful!!

To me, the best toddler toys are the ones that are not harmful, not noisy, have no sharp edges, and do not lead to the promotion of violence. What bothers me sometimes is how parents get to be so busy, that they will put their toddler in a play pen with a huge toy gun that the child is using to shoot rubber discs at their siblings. What is going on here? I know sometimes some parents get busy and they want to occupy their child with something that will encourage peace and quiet. But come on, a toy gun?! Is that the best we can do? Most parents work full time jobs and take care of home, but when did we start paying so little attention to our kids that we will give them toy guns, or tiny metal race cars with sharp edges just to keep them quiet?
